Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase® Opens 64 Remodeled Homes to Tour September 29 – October 1, 2017

For 34 years, the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) has presented the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase to connect area homeowners with remodelers. The tour lets families see real remodeling projects and learn how remodeling can help them remain in their community when their homes no longer fit their needs.

This Fall, visitors can tour 64 remodeled homes by 52 professional remodeling companies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 29th through October 1st, from noon to 6:00 pm. The public is welcome to tour all the homes free of charge, except for two Artisan Dream Remodeled Homes that request a $5 donation to support the BATC Foundation.

Guidebook Features all 64 Homes and More

The comprehensive magazine-style Guidebook features photos, maps and descriptions for all the homes to help visitors plan their tour. Guidebooks are free and can be picked up at any area Holiday Stationstore. There are also a variety of interesting articles to read for inspiration and information.

The Guidebook’s cover feature plus three more “real family” stories share the remodeling experiences of four families whose homes are featured on the tour. Those who want to stay in their homes as they age will appreciate our “Aging in Place” article. There’s a calendar of informative and tasty events that several remodelers are hosting during the tour, and our Style editor, Laura Marrinan has selected some top design trends from our June Artisan Home Tour to provide plenty of inspiration.

Artisan Dream Homes Benefit BATC’s Charitable Arm

Donations ($5.00 at the door) from visitors who tour our two Artisan Dream Remodeled Homes help the BATC Foundation build and remodel homes for area families in need. This Spring’s homes include #R58, a mid-century modern home renovated for a couple planning to age in place located in Crystal and remodeled by Crystal Kitchen Center. #R62 is a Wayzata cottage that Pillar Homes Partner remodeled to create a new sport court and bonus room addition to the formerly detached garage, and a unique second-story connection to the home.

Integrated Online Options

The comprehensive website at www.ParadeofHomes.org includes all 64 entries which are easily searchable by location, remodeler or project type. Integrated company pages provide more information about each remodeling firm, too. Our digital magazine link on the home page lets you read the entire guidebook online, and the Trip Planner is designed to save favorites and then map a convenient route between them. The mobile site at m.Paradeofhomes.org lets smart phone and tablet users find all the homes and remodeler information, and if you create a Trip Planner on your computer, you can access it on your mobile device as you tour.

Projects of All Types

Bathroom and kitchen renovations remain the top two most popular projects nationwide, and the Twin Cities is no exception, with 41 new kitchens and 23 new bathrooms, plus more in the six whole house renovations and five teardowns. Visitors can see 13 new additions, 10 lower level finishes, and 23 great room/family room projects. There are lots of gorgeous new bedrooms, mud rooms, offices, exteriors, porches and decks to tour, all showing the latest in design, materials, products and construction techniques from the region’s best professional remodelers.

Remodeled Homes Located Across the Extended Metro Area

Much of the Twin Cities is represented in this Spring’s Remodelers Showcase, with homes located in 29 cities across the metro region. There are 10 remodeled homes in Minneapolis. St. Paul will have six homes open, while Edina and Lakeville each have five to tour. There are three homes each open in Eagan, Roseville, St. Louis Park and Woodbury.
